The Cleveland Show Review

September 28th, 2009

The first spin off from the highly successful Family Guy goes to Cleveland Brown and The Cleveland Show.

The Show Centers Around Petter Griffins neighbor Cleveland Brown, and is set in his home town in Virginia.

There isn’t much that sets the show apart from its parent. In fact it feels and plays like a  watered down version of Family Guy.

Although one episode is hardly enough to judge a show, it did fail to establish a connection with this viewer.

The show feels too laid back for its own good. And like other Seth MacFarlane creations, their is a talking animal in the series. Family guy had a talking dog, In American Dad we are introduced to a talking fish, and In The Cleveland Show we get to meet a talking bear.

While their is nothing wrong with this approach, the formula seems to be getting stale. All three shows follow the same blueprint and it is evident not only in the animation style but in the plot lines as well.

Of the three shows American Dad continues to improve as a series. Family Guy seems to have peaked in terms of creativity, and The Cleveland Show does not feel right.

Hopefully the show picks up soon or it may face the axe.

Iphone and MMS?? About Time

September 25th, 2009

When the Iphone came out, it was thought to be very advanced for its time. While it lacked certain features, it made up for in others.

One of the key features not present on the Iphone during its release is multimedia messaging. The feature has been present in phones for years but was mysteriously lacking on the Iphone.

Multi media messaging gives users the ability to transmit media files to other users via text message. These files can include audio, pictures, and or video.

While not deal breaking as can be seen by sales of the Iphone, MMS is a necessity for many.

Iphone fans rejoice! As with many features that have been absent, Apple is slowly adding them to their newer generations Iphones.

The MMS feature was promised to be introduced during the life span of the new Iphone 3GS. Well Wait no more because MMS is now a reality here in North America. Head on over to att.com for the details on a feature that is long overdue.

Hail Mary From Sony?

September 21st, 2009

It seems now a days Sony can’t get anything right with their gaming division. While the Play Station 2 dominated its generation, the same is not true for either the Play Station 3 or Sony’s portable device, the PSP.

While not considered a financial failure, the Play Station 3 fails to achieve the same success of the the PS2.

The Play Station 3 has had a few things going against it from the get go. These include: A  high price tag, A new proprietary disc (blu ray), poor design, hard to develop for, stiff competition from Microsoft.

In an attempt to salvage whatever market share it can Sony it seems, is pulling out all the stops. This year alone we saw the a re-design of the Play Station 3 along with a price drop. And still to come, the redesign of the PSP and the release of a new handheld titled PSP Go.

The PSP Go is designed to co-exist with the PSP. Unlike its counterpart it does not have a UMD drive. The PSP Go is designed to take advantage of the Play Station Network. It is set to be released this October.

The success of the PSP Go is unknown at the moment. Despite the difference in target audience, the PSP Go faces stiff competition in the handheld market.

Competitors include: The Nintendo DS, PSP, Iphone/Ipod Touch, and multimedia phones.

While the winners of this console generation are a given, the foundation for the next generation are set in place. Sony used to dominate gaming, there is no reason why they can’t do the same again.

It all depends on how they are perceived by the gaming community.
